1. Mexico (Boho Mexica, 151-153 Commercial Street, Shoreditch)

Picture the scene, a sunny, spring, hungover Sunday afternoon and the Dinnergeddon gals are after some food following a wander along Brick Lane (in reality I think it was just me – Jodi – who was hungover). Mexican never fails to disappoint, so Boho Mexica is where we ended up.

The decor of Boho Mexica was rather authentic but with a contemporary twist. I seem to recall interesting walls but I cannot remember in what way they were interesting.

Anyway, we both punted for the Chilaquiles (Nachos topped with salsa, goat’s cheese and black beans). To drink, I had Horchata and Ruth had Chelada, a Mexican beer topped with fresh lime juice with and salt on the rim.

The nachos were possibly the best I’ve ever tasted. Proper, thick crisps (certainly put Wetherspoon’s to shame). Definitely assisted in the curing of the hangover.

And as a result, Boho Mexica did not score badly..

Service 7/10, food 9/10, environment 8/10.

Average 8/10.
